I hope everyone had a wonderful Happy Halloween and All Saints Day. My weekend was a much needed break. It felt so good to relax and not worry about school work. Thankfully, this week isn’t too bad either. I wanted to share some pictures from the weekend.
My parents had a training session for Lowe’s last week so my mom asked me to cater the desserts. I made mini pumpkin cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting.
Regular size spooky ghost pumpkin muffins.
Have a lot of leftover candy? Chop it up and mix it into cookie dough. Add some nuts to balance out the sweetness.
Chris and Dan had a Halloween party on Saturday night. It was laid back but fun to just hang out.
Harry Potter and a Hermione….
Disclaimer: Chris was “forced” to wear this costume
Brittany, Sof, and Me
Chris even helped me to decorate a bunch of different cookies.
I wish I had taken a picture of the finished product but I completely forgot. Here’s an idea of what they looked like, we made spider cookies, frankenstein monsters, and sugar cookie ghosts. Ours were more….rustic.
I have to share this picture of Oreo. On Friday night I was about to make a salad and she decided it made a comfy bed. She feel asleep in the glass bowl for about an hour.
And finally, last night I baked pan de muerto (bread of the dead) using one of my aunt Carmina’s recipes. It turned out great. When it comes out of the oven you brush melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. So good!
There you have it. A little glimpse of some of the baking I have been doing. Until next time- xoxo.
